Northants & Norfolk Teens Contribute to One Million Hours of Doing Good

With the country starting to get back on its feet it is great to see that teenagers in Northamptonshire and Norfolk  have been doing their bit in their communities to help rebuild and create positive change.

This summer, by working on NCS, The EBP has supported teenagers to carry out over 1000 hours of community volunteering in Northamptonshire and Norfolk.

As part of their NCS experience, a variety of community projects have been springing up across the county, with groups of teenagers working on projects including renovating public outdoor spaces and raising awareness of charities and good causes.

One team of young people, who have been working with The Canal and River Trust in Welford, Northants, to create pathways for the public to enjoy said; “We’ve had fun and it’s been different and got us out of the house! Would highly recommend NCS and volunteering, it feels good to be able to give back to the community and help them rebuild”.

This project is part of NCS’s ‘One Million Hours of Doing Good’, a wider pledge to enable up to one million hours for teens to take an active role in helping the country recover post Covid-19.
